Deborah (E.D.) and Jamie (Founder) have been long-time friends.  They worked together to build and shape Asha's Refuge since its formal beginning in 2010.  Jamie worked on the ground amidst refugees in Memphis, TN volunteering with a resettlement agency in 2008.  She reached out to her community for help after meeting Asha and seeing the myriad of needs in the vulnerable community of newcomers.  Deborah stepped up to help Jamie set up programs, policies, and organizational processes to solidify the plans they both believed God gave Jamie to minister to those in need.  They started off holding English and life skills classes inside an old apartment.  Today, they share about 7,000 square feet of office and classroom space with other organizations and agencies that partner with them to serve the refugee and immigrant community in Memphis, TN. They are thankful to their wonderful staff, volunteers, partnering agencies, businesses, schools, churches, and clients for their prayers, mentorship, suggestions, and collaboration efforts.  Working together, we can accomplish a lot.
