Deborah Eaton and Jamie Jones
Deborah (E.D.) and Jamie (Founder) have been long-time friends who collaborated on building and shaping Asha's Refuge since its formal inception in 2010. Jamie began working directly with refugees in Memphis, TN, volunteering with a resettlement agency in 2008. After meeting Asha and recognizing the myriad needs within the vulnerable newcomer community, she reached out to her local community for assistance.
Deborah stepped in to help Jamie establish programs, policies, and organizational processes to realize the vision they both believed God had given Jamie for ministering to those in need. They started by holding English and life skills classes in an old apartment. Today, they share approximately 7,000 square feet of office and classroom space with other organizations and agencies that partner with them to serve the refugee and immigrant community in Memphis, TN.
They are grateful to their wonderful staff, volunteers, partnering agencies, businesses, schools, churches, and clients for their prayers, mentorship, suggestions, and collaborative efforts. By working together, we can achieve a great deal.
