Would your church small group or community group (5-7 people) like to partner with us to welcome an individual or a family to America?  Asha's Refuge partners with agencies and volunteers to connect newly arriving families (or families that need extended services) to groups willing to go through a "co-sponsorship" training process and a 180-day commitment.  We pray that each newcomer feels accepted and welcome.  Your best friend may be waiting to meet you.

Refugee and immigrant individuals working to integrate into a new community and a new culture with a new language, face a myriad of challenges.  Advocacy and access to support services are key to helping newcomers succeed.  Asha's Refuge partners with volunteer groups and agencies to help individuals navigate and understand everyday American life, financial literacy, job skills, language, systems, and culture. 

Asha's Refuge partners with several wonderful civil surgeons and legal agencies in order to help newcomers better understand their rights and work through the many steps and processes toward their U.S. Permanent Residency and, ultimately, their U.S. Naturalization.  The attorneys we partner with are culturally sensitive and aim to have reasonable fees with affordable payment plans.  Our clients are lawfully present, eager to work, and happy to be on a path to having U.S. Citizenship.  

It is important to engage our community and have meaningful discussions that will increase awareness of immigrant needs.  We collaborate with our clients, agencies, churches, schools, businesses, and other individuals to offer trauma-informed cultural training which promotes trust and allows an open door for problem-solving and finding effective solutions among the networks of people who are eager to work with newcomers.
