90 days is not enough time for displaced families of war, natural disaster, or persecution to transition and become self-sufficient in a new culture and new society.
Over 15 years, Asha's Refuge, a Memphis-based 501(c)(3), has provided an all-encompassing range of services to displaced refugees and asylees forced from their homes due to war, natural disaster, and persecution. These services range from legal assistance to trauma healing, transportation to interpretation, education to life counseling, and ultimately help bridge the gap between 90 days of government services and full integration into Memphis.
We partner with local resettlement agencies, businesses, legal aid, churches, and other organizations to create sustainable programs that help bridge the gap, encourage positive self-worth, and empower newcomers.
Our goal is to rekindle refugees’ hope, dignity, and confidence by making them feel welcome while demonstrating how they can thrive and become a positive force in our community.
Over the years, Asha's Refuge has collaborated in some way or another with many businesses, churches, schools, and agencies to open doors and make better resettlement processes for newcomers. We've served over 4,000 individuals since our existence in 2010 in partnership with others. We could not have done this without great people and leaders to help make it happen. Thank you for serving alongside us Memphis!
